Training Outline
1. EFT research
2. The meridian (acupuncture) theory and desensitization
3. Primary and secondary tapping points (chart)
4. Basic Recipe
a. Identify the tapping target
b. Measure SUDs
c. Correct for “psychological reversal”
d. Tap each point with the reminder phrase
e. Measure SUDs again
f. If SUDs are not 0, do another round of tapping
5. Targeting (what to focus on while you tap):
emotion
memory
thought
physical pain
body sensation
craving
6. Using EFT in a clinical setting:
anxiety
traumatic memory
craving/ addiction
7. Tapping for self-care
prevent or resolve secondary PTSD
manage countertransference
Training Objectives
- Participants will demonstrate their knowledge of the primary and secondary “tapping points”;
- Participants will be able to apply the basic tapping protocol;
- Participants will discuss “targeting”, differentiating between sensation, emotion, and cognition specific targets.
- Participants will practice EFT protocols for emotional and psychosomatic pain;
- Participants will practice EFT protocols for stress reduction;
- Participants will practice EFT protocols for primary and secondary trauma;
- Participants will demonstrate their knowledge of applying EFT on specific client cases.
